Rome, Italy- The Italian opera star Luciano Pavarotti, died this morning of complications during his long battle with cancer of the pancreas.

“he Great Luciano”, as he was known, helped to take the opera to the masses and performed for big audiences in stadiums around the world.

The great singer died in his house in Modena, Italy;  where he had retired after he had surgery in New York for the cancer of the pancreas.

Pavarotti’s legacy will live in our hearts. The powerful voice and bearded face for which he was known will continue to bring opera to the world.
